Configuring Minimum & Maximum Price Rules

Updated July 2026 ยท Price Manager

Overview

Price Safeguards let you set a floor (minimum) and ceiling (maximum) for each product's price. When a price falls outside those limits - whether from a manual edit, a bulk update, or an import - LinkSyncSell flags it so you can review and correct it.

In the app, this feature is labelled Min/Max Rules. Each platform column group has Minimum Price and Maximum Price fields and an Apply Min/Max Rules toggle.

๐Ÿ“
Note: Min/Max Rules don't hard-block a price. When a price falls outside your limits you're asked how to handle it - disable the limits, change the limits to match the price, or set the price to the limit. Existing prices that fall outside enabled limits are flagged in the table with a red marker so you can catch and fix them.

Setting Minimum and Maximum Prices

  1. Find the product in the Price Manager table
  2. Locate the Minimum Price and Maximum Price columns for the relevant platform
  3. Enter your desired minimum and maximum values directly in those fields
  4. Turn on the Apply Min/Max Rules toggle next to that product to activate the safeguard
๐Ÿ’ก
Tip: Set your minimum price to at least cover your costs plus your baseline profit margin. This protects you from accidentally selling at a loss during bulk edits or price imports.

What Happens When a Price Breaks the Limits

Manual Updates

If you manually enter a price outside the allowed range:

  • The price is still pushed to the platform
  • The affected cells (price, min, or max) are highlighted in the table to flag the violation
  • Click the flagged cell (the red marker) to open the resolution options:
  • Disable minimum/maximum limits of affected products - turns off the min/max rules so prices are no longer checked
  • Change limits to match the price of affected products - updates the min/max values to fit the new price
  • Set price to minimum/maximum price value of affected products - clamps the price to your defined minimum or maximum

Bulk Updates

When running a bulk price update, the modal includes a section headed "Action Required: For Products with Min/Max Rules Applied". Choose how violations should be handled for all affected products:

  • Disable minimum/maximum limits of affected products - turns off the rules for affected products (this is the default selection)
  • Change limits to match the price of affected products - updates the min/max values to match the new price
  • Set price to minimum/maximum price value of affected products - keeps prices within the defined limits instead of applying the calculated price
๐Ÿ’ก
Tip: The default behavior in bulk updates is to disable limits for affected products. If you want to strictly enforce your pricing limits during a bulk update, choose "Set price to minimum/maximum price value of affected products" before confirming.
๐Ÿ“
Note: LinkSyncSell's Price Safeguards work independently from any pricing protections Amazon or other platforms have in place. They're separate systems - one doesn't affect the other.

Tips & Notes

๐Ÿ“
Note: You can set different minimum and maximum prices per platform. For example, your minimum on Faire (wholesale) can differ from your minimum on Shopify (retail).
๐Ÿ“
Note: All safeguard violations and any resolutions you apply are logged in the Audit Trail.

Troubleshooting

Safeguard isn't triggering when a price goes outside the limits.

Make sure the Apply Min/Max Rules toggle is turned on for that product. If the toggle is off, safeguards won't activate.

Cells are flagged after a bulk update.

This means one or more products had prices outside their defined limits. Click each flagged cell and choose the appropriate resolution - disable the limits, adjust them, or revert the price.
