Listings That Need Attention

Updated July 2026 ยท Linking Products

Overview

The Listings That Need Attention tab gathers every Platform Listing that LinkSyncSell could not auto-link to a Master Product. These listings are sitting in limbo, they've been imported, but they aren't tied to a Master Product yet, which means they won't sync with their counterparts on other platforms.

You should resolve everything in this tab before you start using Status Manager, Price Manager, or any cross-platform feature.

Why a listing ends up here

A listing lands in Listings That Need Attention when one of these is true:

  • Blank SKU. The listing has no SKU on the platform, so LinkSyncSell has nothing to match against.
  • Duplicate SKU on the same platform. Two or more listings on the same platform share a SKU, which makes the match ambiguous.

Remark: As mentioned a listing only lands here when its SKU is blank or duplicated. A listing that has a valid, unique SKU which simply doesn't match anything else in your catalog is not flagged - it automatically gets its own new Master Product and appears in the Master Product List and Single Platform Products tabs instead.

Your two options for each flagged listing

For each listing in the tab, choose one of these:

  1. Assign it to an existing Master Product or Master Variant.

Use this when the listing is the same physical product as one you already manage in LinkSyncSell. After assigning, the listing is added to that Master Product and will sync with the other platforms' listings going forward.

  1. Create a new Master Product or Master Variant.

Use this when the listing represents a brand-new product that doesn't exist anywhere else in your catalog yet. LinkSyncSell will create a new Master Product record and attach this listing to it.

How to resolve a flagged listing

  1. In the left sidebar, go to Catalog > Link Products.
  2. Click the Listings That Need Attention tab.
  3. Review the flagged listings.
  4. For each listing, use the Action column to either Assign it to an existing Master Product/Variant, or Create New to create a new Master Product/Variant.
  5. Repeat until the tab is empty.

Bulk action: Create New Master Products for All

At the top of this tab, there is a Create New Master Products for All button. This bulk action takes every listing in the tab and creates a brand-new Master Product for each one, no manual assignment.

Use this only when you're confident that none of the flagged listings exist in your other platforms (for example, a fresh first import of a brand-new sales channel). If you use this prematurely, you may end up with duplicate Master Products for items that should have been linked instead.

Tips & Notes

Tip: Sort the table by platform first so you can knock out all the Shopify listings, then all the Amazon listings, etc. Switching contexts less makes the work faster.

Note: The fastest long-term fix is to make sure your SKUs are consistent across platforms. Listings with matching SKUs auto-link on import and never appear in this tab. See Understanding the SKU Linking Process.

Troubleshooting

I added a SKU to a previously imported listing, but it's still here.

Adding the SKU on the platform is not enough on its own - LinkSyncSell re-matches a listing only when it re-imports it during a sync. Any listing that still has no Master Product is re-checked on every sync, so add the SKU on the platform, then run Sync Product Changes (from the Product Attribute Editor) to re-import that platform. The listing will then either link to the matching Master Product or get its own, and leave this tab. You can also just assign it manually here.

I clicked "Create New Master Products for All" by mistake.

You can fix this from the Master Product List tab. Find each duplicate Master Product, unlink the Platform Listing, then reassign it to the correct existing Master Product. Once the duplicate Master Product has no listings left, it is removed automatically - there is no manual delete step. See Reassigning, Unlinking & Creating Master Products.

A listing is flagged for duplicate SKU.

Two products on the same platform are sharing a SKU. Open the platform's seller dashboard, fix the duplicate so that each product has a unique SKU, then come back to LinkSyncSell and re-sync the platform.
