Syncing Product Data from a Platform

Updated July 2026 ยท Product Attribute Editor

Overview

"Sync Product Changes" pulls the latest product data from your connected platforms into LinkSyncSell. Use this whenever you've made changes directly on a platform and want to make sure LinkSyncSell is up to date.

When to Use This

  • You edited a listing directly in Shopify, Amazon, or another platform and want those changes reflected in LSS
  • You want to confirm LSS is showing the most current version of a listing
  • You've resolved an issue directly on a platform and want LSS to pick up the updated state

Steps

  1. Go to Catalog > Product Attribute Editor
  2. On the relevant platform tab, find the Sync Product Changes button
  3. Click Sync Product Changes
  4. LinkSyncSell pulls the latest product data from that platform
  5. Go to Help & Records > Process Log to monitor the sync progress
๐Ÿ“
Note: This sync updates existing products that are already imported into LinkSyncSell. It does not import brand-new products you've added directly on the platform. For new products, use the Import/Add Products feature instead.
๐Ÿ’ก
Tip: LinkSyncSell runs an automatic sync once per day. Use the manual sync button when you need an immediate update - for example, after making a quick fix directly on a platform.

Button restrictions

The Sync Product Changes button may be unavailable in these situations:

  • Platform not connected - if the selected platform tab is not currently integrated with your account, the button will be greyed out. Go to Connect Platforms to connect it first.
  • Sync already in progress - if a sync is currently running for that platform, the button is disabled until it completes. A progress indicator is shown at the top of the page while the sync is active.
  • Recent sync cooldown (1-hour limit) - if a full sync was run recently, you must wait up to 1 hour before triggering another one. If you click the button during this window, a warning message will appear with the remaining wait time. This cooldown helps protect platform API limits and ensures sync stability.

Tips & Notes

๐Ÿ“
Note: If a platform is temporarily unavailable, the sync may not complete. Check the Process Log and try again when the platform is accessible.

Troubleshooting

Sync doesn't seem to be picking up changes.

Wait a moment and refresh the page. Platform data can take a short time to process. If changes still aren't reflected, check the Process Log for any error messages.

Platform changes still not reflected after sync.

Verify that the platform is still connected. Go to Connect Platforms and confirm the connection is active, then try syncing again.

Sync Product Changes button is greyed out and can't be clicked.

This happens when the platform shown on the current tab is not connected to your account (go to Connect Platforms to set it up), or when a sync is already running - wait for the progress banner to clear and then try again.

A warning appears saying "You recently ran a sync. Please wait up to 1 hour..."

This is the cooldown limit. Full product syncs are rate-limited to once per hour per platform to prevent overloading the platform's API. Wait until the cooldown expires and try again.
