How to Connect a New Selling Platform

Updated July 2026 ยท Connecting Platforms

Overview

Linking a marketplace account to LinkSyncSell takes just a few minutes. Once connected, LinkSyncSell will automatically import your existing products and start syncing inventory and status across your platforms. This guide walks you through the process step by step.

Prerequisites

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • An active account on the platform you want to connect
  • Owner or Admin permissions on that platform account (you'll need to authorize LinkSyncSell)
  • Unique SKUs set up on your products - this helps LinkSyncSell automatically match the same product across platforms (see the tip below)
  • A plan that supports the number of platforms you want to connect

Tip: Before connecting, take a moment to check that every product on that platform has a unique SKU. If two products share a SKU, it can cause linking errors and inaccurate syncing. You'll also see this reminder on the Connect Platforms page.

Steps

  1. In the left sidebar, click Catalog to expand the menu.
  2. Click Connect Platforms.
  3. Read the yellow notice at the top of the page: "Make sure each product has a unique SKU to avoid listing conflicts and ensure accurate syncing across platforms."
  4. Find the platform you want to connect in the list.
  5. Click Connect Your Account for that platform.
  6. You'll be redirected to the platform's authorization page (this uses OAuth - a secure, standard login flow).
  7. Log in to your platform account if you're prompted to do so.
  8. When asked, grant the required permissions so LinkSyncSell can access your product and order data.
  9. You'll be redirected back to LinkSyncSell automatically.
  10. Complete the platform connection process by providing additional information (such as selecting a store or warehouse in certain integrations).
  11. After this step, you can freely start importing products or selected products.
  12. Go to Help & Records > Process Log to monitor the import progress and confirm everything completed successfully.

Note: The initial product import can take a few minutes, especially if you have a large catalog. You'll see the status update in real time in the Process Log. You don't need to stay on the page - the import runs in the background.

After Connecting

Once the import completes, here's what you can expect:

  • Products that have been successfully linked (either automatically or manually) will appear in the Status Manager and Product Attribute Editor.
  • LinkSyncSell will automatically try to match and link listings that share the same SKU across your connected platforms - this is called auto-linking.
  • Go to Catalog > Link Products > Listings that Need Attention to review products that couldn't be auto-linked. These products must be linked manually before they become available in the Status Manager and Product Attribute Editor.

Troubleshooting

Connection fails or doesn't complete.

Check that you have Owner or Admin permissions on the platform. Standard user accounts often don't have the authorization needed to approve third-party app connections.

Products aren't appearing after connecting.

Open the Process Log (Help & Records > Process Log) and look for error messages related to the import. Sometimes a permission issue or API error during import can prevent products from loading.

The platform shows a status of "In Progress."

The import is still running. Wait a few minutes and refresh the page. Large catalogs can take longer to process.

I've hit my plan's platform limit.

You've reached the maximum number of platforms allowed on your current plan. Upgrade to connect more platforms. Visit the Settings > Plan & Billing page to see your options.
