Removing or Disconnecting a Platform
Overview
If you need to stop syncing with a platform - whether you're closing that account, switching tools, or just tidying up - you can remove the connection in LinkSyncSell. This guide explains what happens when you disconnect a platform and what to expect afterward.
Before You Disconnect
It's important to understand what happens when a platform is disconnected:
- Sync stops immediately. Once a platform is disconnected, LinkSyncSell will no longer push or pull changes to or from that marketplace.
- Products and orders from that integration are removed. When a platform is disconnected - either from within LinkSyncSell or by uninstalling the app on the platform itself - LinkSyncSell automatically removes products, listings, links, and order data associated with that integration.
- This action is logged. The disconnection is recorded in both the Process Log and the User Audit Trail so you have a clear record of when it happened.
- Removing a connection and uninstalling an app are treated the same way. Whether you disconnect the platform from LinkSyncSell or uninstall the LinkSyncSell app from the platform's own settings, the integration will be disconnected and its associated data will be cleaned up.
- Shopify billing users should be aware of subscription changes. If your LinkSyncSell subscription is billed through Shopify and you uninstall the LinkSyncSell app from Shopify, your Shopify app subscription will be automatically cancelled. To continue using LinkSyncSell afterward, you'll need to set up billing through another supported payment provider, such as Stripe.
Steps
- In the left sidebar, click Catalog.
- Click Connect Platforms.
- Find the platform you want to remove.
- Click Remove Account.
- Confirm the action when prompted.
After Disconnecting
Here's what you'll notice after removing a platform:
- The platform will no longer appear as an active integration.
- Products, listings, links, and orders associated with that platform will be removed from LinkSyncSell.
- Synchronization with that marketplace stops immediately.
- If you reconnect the platform later, LinkSyncSell will perform a new import and rebuild the integration data.
Troubleshooting
The Remove Account button isn't appearing.
Make sure you're viewing the platform's connected account on the Connect Platforms page. If the button isn't visible, try refreshing the page. If it still doesn't appear, contact support.
The platform still shows as connected after I removed it.
Try refreshing the page. If it still appears as connected, check the Process Log for any errors during the removal process. In some cases, a temporary API issue can delay the update. Wait a minute and refresh again.
I uninstalled the Shopify app and lost access.
If your subscription was billed through Shopify, uninstalling the app automatically cancels the Shopify billing agreement. To continue using LinkSyncSell, reconnect your platform and set up billing through an alternative provider such as Stripe.
