Quick Start Guide

Updated July 2026 ยท Getting Started

Overview

This guide gets you from a brand-new LinkSyncSell account to a fully synced, ready-to-manage catalog in three steps. It's the fastest path to being set up.

Plan for about 15 to 30 minutes to complete everything, depending on how many platforms you're connecting and the size of your catalog.

Before You Begin

Before you start, run through this checklist:

  • You have active seller accounts on the platforms you want to connect
  • You have owner or admin permissions on those accounts
  • Your SKUs are consistent across platforms (same item = same SKU everywhere)
  • You're using a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)
  • You have a stable internet connection

If you haven't reviewed the full requirements yet, see the System Requirements & Prerequisites article before continuing.

Step 1: Connect Your Selling Platforms

The first thing you need to do is connect your selling platforms to LinkSyncSell.

  • In the left sidebar, click Catalog, then click Connect Platforms.
  • You'll see a list of supported platforms. Click “Connect Your Account” next to the platform you want to add first.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to authorize the connection through OAuth. You'll be redirected to the platform's login page (if you aren't already signed in) and asked to approve the connection.
  • Once authorized, you'll be returned to LinkSyncSell and your platform will show as connected.
  • Repeat for any additional platforms you want to connect.
๐Ÿ“
Note: The number of platforms you can connect depends on your plan. The Free plan includes 2 connections. Paid plans include 3, and you can purchase additional connection slots if you need more. If you've reached your limit, add slots or upgrade your plan from Plan & Billing before continuing.
๐Ÿ’ก
Tip: For a detailed walkthrough of connecting each platform, see the How to Connect a New Selling Platform article.

Once your platforms are connected, LinkSyncSell gets to work automatically. Here's what happens:

  • LinkSyncSell imports all your existing product listings from every connected platform.
  • It reads the SKUs on each listing and looks for matches across platforms.
  • Products that share the same SKU across platforms are automatically grouped under one Master Product.

This process runs in the background. Depending on your catalog size, it may take a few minutes to a few hours for a large catalog.

What to do next:

  • In the left sidebar, go to Catalog > Link Products.
  • Click the Listings that Need Attention tab.
  • Review any listings that couldn't be auto-linked (missing SKUs, duplicate SKUs, or SKU mismatches). Resolve each one by assigning it to an existing Master Product or creating a new one.
๐Ÿ“
Note: You don't have to resolve everything right away. But clearing up unlinked products sooner means your catalog data will be more accurate from the start.
๐Ÿ’ก
Tip: See the Understanding the SKU Linking Process article for a full explanation of how linking works and how to fix common issues.

Step 3: Configure Platform Settings

With your products imported and linked, take a few minutes to set up your platform-specific settings. These settings make sure your data is calculated correctly.

  • In the left sidebar, click Platform Management, then click Platform Settings.
  • For each connected platform, enter your platform fees (the percentage or flat fee the platform charges per sale). This is used in profit calculations.
  • Set any other platform-specific preferences shown on the settings page.
  • Next, go to your Company Settings (click the Settings icon in the top right of the header).
  • Set your company timezone. This is important because the daily sync for inventory and prices runs at approximately 4am in your company's timezone. Getting this right means your sync schedule matches your expectations.
๐Ÿ“
Note: Platform fees vary. Check each platform's seller help center if you're not sure what percentage to enter. Amazon and others each charge different rates.

What Happens Next

Once you've completed these three steps, LinkSyncSell takes over with ongoing, automatic syncing:

  • Inventory and prices sync daily at approximately 4am (your company's timezone).
  • Orders sync every 15 to 30 minutes throughout the day.
  • Manual sync is available once per hour if you need to pull in fresh data right away.

Here's where to go to manage things going forward:

  • View and manage product listings: Catalog > Master Product Listings
  • Edit listing details and attributes: Catalog > Product Attribute Editor (All Inclusive)
  • Manage statuses: Catalog > Status Manager
  • Set pricing rules: Pricing > Price Manager (All Inclusive)
  • Calculate profit: Pricing > Expense & Profit Calculator
  • View all orders: Orders > Unified Order View
  • Check your revenue: Overview page, or Reporting Analytics

Tips & Notes

๐Ÿ’ก
Tip: Bookmark the LinkSyncSell Overview page. It's your home base - it shows your daily revenue, product counts across platforms, and quick links to the tools you use most.
๐Ÿ“
Note: If you manage multiple stores, use the store selector dropdown at the top of the left sidebar to switch between them.

Troubleshooting

My products didn't import after connecting a platform.

Give it a few minutes - large catalogs take time to import. If nothing shows up after 30 minutes, check the Process Log (Help & Records > Process Log) for any error messages. Try manually triggering a sync from Platform Settings. If the issue continues, contact support.

The platform connection failed during OAuth.

Make sure you're logged into the platform account with owner or admin permissions before authorizing. Try again in a fresh browser tab. If the connection still fails, check whether the platform is experiencing any outages.

I connected a platform but I see zero products.

Check that you have active, published products on that platform. If your platform account is new or all products are drafts, there may be nothing to import yet. Also verify that your platform account status is in good standing.
